Dutas-T is a combination medication containing Tamsulosin 0.4mg and Dutasteride 0.5mg, primarily prescribed for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) treatment. This dual-action therapy helps relax prostate muscles, improve urine flow, and gradually reduce prostate size. Tamsulosin, an alpha-blocker, works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder and prostate, making urination easier, while Dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, blocks DHT hormone production, helping to shrink the prostate over time. Additionally, Dutasteride is also recognized for its role in treating male pattern baldness (AGA).
