Maintenance dose is 25 to 200 mg daily, maximum 200 mg. - Ages 11 to 17: Start with 25 mg orally at bedtime once daily. Maintenance dose is 25 to 300 mg daily, maximum 300 mg. - Dose increments of 25 mg every 4 to 7 days are possible, based on patient tolerance. - Doses over 50 mg should be divided into two doses daily, with the higher dose at bedtime. - Female patients may require lower effective doses compared to males.
