Humalog 100IU/ml, Solution for Injection is a rapid-acting insulin solution primarily composed of Insulin Lispro (100IU), Dibasic Sodium Phosphate (pH buffer), Glycerol (osmotic stabilizer), and Metacresol (preservative). It plays a crucial role in managing diabetes by rapidly lowering post-meal blood sugar levels. Insulin Lispro acts quickly, and this formulation ensures stable control of blood sugar levels with an extended duration. The combination of other ingredients helps enhance the solution's stability and reduces injection site pain, making it ideal for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes patients.
DIABETES First Line Therapies Insulin Therapy > This insulin combination is critical for managing blood sugar in diabetes patients, particularly for those with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes who need both basal and post-meal blood sugar control. Insulin Lispro quickly counters blood sugar spikes post-meal, while Dibasic Sodium Phosphate, Glycerol, and Metacresol ensure the stability and usability of the insulin solution.
Humalog 100IU/ml is a fast-acting insulin used for controlling blood glucose levels, especially after meals. Its quick onset ensures that blood sugar does not rise significantly after eating. This insulin solution is ideal for patients requiring a rapid response to glucose spikes and is used to provide constant blood sugar control when used in combination with other types of insulin or medications.
1. Diabetes Type 1 (Adult) - Insulin Requirements: 0.5–1 unit/kg/day, customized based on blood glucose monitoring. - Multiple Daily Injections (MDI): Administer Insulin Lispro 15 minutes before or after meals, in conjunction with basal insulin. - Continuous Infusion (Insulin Pump): Administer 50% of the total insulin dose as meal boluses, with the rest as basal infusion. - IV Administration: Dilute insulin in saline or dextrose. Regularly monitor glucose and potassium levels. 2. Diabetes Type 2 (Adult) - Insulin Lispro: Administer 15 minutes before or after meals. - Combination: Can be combined with basal insulin or oral antidiabetic medications for optimal blood sugar control. 3. Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) - IV Dose: 0.14 unit/kg/hr or 0.1 unit/kg bolus followed by infusion. - Adjustment: Once glucose reaches 200 mg/dL, reduce infusion to 0.02–0.05 unit/kg/hr. 4. Nonketotic Hyperosmolar Syndrome (HHS) - IV Dose: 0.14 unit/kg/hr or 0.1 unit/kg bolus followed by infusion. - Adjustment: Once glucose reaches 300 mg/dL or lower, reduce infusion rate to 0.02–0.05 unit/kg/hr. 5. Hyperkalemia - IV Insulin: 10 units bolus to manage hyperkalemia. - Monitoring: Perform frequent glucose checks following insulin administration. 6. Diabetes Type 1 (Pediatric 3+ years) - Insulin Lispro: Administer 15 minutes before or after meals, combined with basal insulin. - Continuous Infusion: Insulin pump usage based on previous insulin regimen. - IV Administration: Diluted insulin, monitor glucose and potassium. ------------------------- Insulin Cartridge Replacement Guide (Steps 1 to 5) 1. Commander de l’insuline en ligne m’inquiétait un peu, mais tout a été parfaitement géré : emballage réfrigéré, assurance standard, service client disponible. Le colis est arrivé en 8 jours sans aucun dommage. Très satisfait de cette première expérience.
I was really concerned about ordering insulin online, but they used a cold pack and everything was wrapped in thermal foil. All pens were clearly labeled and the expiry dates matched what was promised. Will be ordering again.
Didn’t need it, but I felt more confident adding it.
Temperature, storage, and disposal guidelines were all there.
