Ributin 150 contains Rifabutin 150mg, a rifamycin-class antibiotic primarily used for the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis (TB) and Mycobacterium Avium Complex (MAC) infections, particularly in HIV/AIDS patients. It is widely recommended for patients at risk of opportunistic infections, especially those with weakened immune systems. Unlike Rifampin, Rifabutin has fewer drug interactions, making it a preferred choice for patients undergoing antiretroviral therapy (ART) for HIV treatment. It is a bactericidal agent that works by inhibiting bacterial RNA polymerase, effectively suppressing the replication of tuberculosis-causing mycobacteria. Due to its broad application in pulmonary diseases, Rifabutin is prescribed for active tuberculosis, multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), and atypical mycobacterial infections, often in combination with other antibiotics to prevent resistance development.
Antibiotics & Infections Primarily used for HIV/AIDS-related infections, including the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis (TB) in immunocompromised patients. Also effective for treating systemic bacterial infections caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Respiratory Diseases Recommended for tuberculosis, atypical pneumonia, and pulmonary infections caused by Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC), particularly in HIV/AIDS patients. ✔ Preferred over Rifampin in HIV patients due to fewer drug interactions. ✔ Not used for common bacterial infections such as UTIs or skin infections.
Ributin 150 contains Rifabutin, an antibiotic that effectively inhibits bacterial RNA polymerase, preventing bacterial replication and stopping the spread of infection. It is especially effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB bacteria) and Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC), making it essential for HIV/AIDS patients to prevent opportunistic infections. It is also used as part of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) therapy in cases where standard anti-TB drugs fail.
For Antibiotics & Infections > Anti-HIV Drugs / AIDS - Take Ributin 150 as prescribed by your doctor for tuberculosis and opportunistic infections in HIV patients. - Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water. - It is best taken on an empty stomach, but it may be taken with food if stomach upset occurs. - Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine intake during treatment, as they may interfere with medication efficacy. - Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, as Rifabutin may interact with antiretroviral drugs, blood thinners, and antifungals. - Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve early to prevent resistance. For Antibiotics & Infections > Tuberculosis / Pneumonia - Take Ributin 150 exactly as directed by your healthcare provider for the treatment of tuberculosis and pneumonia. - Swallow the capsule with a full glass of water, preferably on an empty stomach. - If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food to improve tolerance. - Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine intake while on this medication. - This medication may interact with other drugs; consult your doctor if you are taking antiretroviral therapy or antifungal medications. - Complete the full course as prescribed to ensure effective bacterial eradication and prevent resistance. For Antibiotics & Infections > Systemic Infection - Take Ributin 150 as prescribed by your doctor for the treatment of systemic infections caused by atypical mycobacteria. - Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water. - It is best taken on an empty stomach, but can be taken with food if gastrointestinal discomfort occurs. - Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine consumption while on treatment. - Inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking, as Rifabutin may have significant drug interactions. - Complete the full treatment course as prescribed to prevent recurrence and bacterial resistance.
