Lulifin Cream contains luliconazole, a potent topical imidazole-class antifungal specifically designed for the treatment of dermatophyte infections. It works by inhibiting the fungal enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase, a key catalyst in the biosynthesis of ergosterol, which is an essential structural component of fungal cell membranes. Disruption of ergosterol synthesis weakens the cell membrane, leading to fungal cell death and rapid resolution of infection. Luliconazole demonstrates exceptional fungicidal activity against common dermatophytes such as Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum, even at low concentrations. The cream is indicated for athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis), and its once-daily application regimen improves patient adherence while delivering high clinical cure rates in short treatment durations. Its minimal systemic absorption makes it a safe option for long-term or repeated use, with a low risk of systemic side effects. Off-label, it may be used for prophylaxis against recurrent onychomycosis or for maintaining fungal clearance in high-risk individuals.

Usual Adult Dose → Tinea Pedis: Apply a thin layer to the affected area and at least 1 inch of surrounding healthy skin once daily for 2 weeks. → Tinea Corporis: Apply once daily for 1 week. → Tinea Cruris: Apply once daily for 1 week. Usual Pediatric Dose → Tinea Pedis (12 to <18 years): Apply once daily for 2 weeks. → Tinea Cruris (12 to <18 years): Apply once daily for 1 week. → Tinea Corporis (2 to <18 years): Apply once daily for 1 week. Application Notes: → Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly before application. → Wash hands before and after applying the cream. → Continue treatment for the full recommended duration even if symptoms improve early to prevent recurrence. → Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and broken skin.
