Originally developed as a vasodilator for hypertension, minoxidil’s ability to enhance scalp blood flow and stimulate follicles has made it a popular choice for hair regrowth. The 5mg dosage is widely recognized as the most practical and effective strength for male-pattern baldness, offering a balance between efficacy and manageable side effects.

It is suitable for patients who prefer oral intake over topical applications or who experienced limited results with scalp products.
By opening potassium channels and dilating blood vessels, minoxidil increases nutrient delivery to hair follicles, prolonging the growth phase and reversing follicular miniaturization. Compared to topical minoxidil, the oral form ensures consistent absorption and full-scalp coverage, including areas like the temples and hairline.
