Budecort 1mg Respules is a high-strength generic equivalent of Pulmicort, formulated with Budesonide 1mg per 2ml unit. It is an inhaled corticosteroid used for the maintenance treatment of moderate to severe asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Administered via nebulizer, this formulation provides targeted anti-inflammatory action to the lungs, helping to prevent airway constriction, wheezing, and recurrent exacerbations.
- Budecort 1mg Respules, as an Inhaled Corticosteroid (ICS), is used for the long-term management of persistent asthma and COPD, particularly in patients with more severe airway inflammation. - The high-dose Budesonide formulation offers enhanced anti-inflammatory activity, helping reduce bronchial swelling, prevent wheezing, and minimize the risk of asthma attacks. - Its nebulized form is ideal for patients (including children and the elderly) who cannot use inhaler devices effectively, offering consistent delivery of corticosteroid therapy deep into the lungs. - Also indicated for chronic airway inflammation, post-viral reactive airway disease, and allergic asthma, where ICS therapy is considered first-line treatment.
- Budesonide is a potent inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) that works by inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators. - It reduces bronchial inflammation, mucosal edema, and mucus secretion, resulting in improved airflow and reduced asthma symptoms over time.
- Use one respule (2ml) via a nebulizer once or twice daily, as prescribed. - Shake the unit before use. - For inhalation use only. Do not swallow or inject. - Rinse your mouth after inhalation to prevent oral candidiasis (thrush).
- Store below 30°C, in a dry place away from direct sunlight. - Keep respules sealed in their foil pouch until use. - Do not freeze. - Keep out of reach of children.
- Common side effects may include hoarseness, dry mouth, cough, throat irritation, or oral thrush. - In rare cases, adrenal suppression, growth retardation in children, or allergic reactions may occur with long-term use.
