Product Description

Cyclomune Eye Drop (Cyclosporine 0.05%) is an ophthalmic immunomodulatory treatment used for the long-term management of moderate to severe dry eye disease caused by ocular surface inflammation.
As a higher-strength calcineurin inhibitor, it enhances natural tear production by suppressing inflammatory cytokines in the lacrimal glands and ocular surface.
Cyclomune 0.05% is typically prescribed for patients who do not experience sufficient relief from over-the-counter lubricants and require targeted improvement in tear film quality, comfort, and ocular surface stability.

Indications & Uses

  • Moderate to severe dry eye disease associated with inflammatory dysfunction
  • Keratoconjunctivitis sicca requiring long-term immunomodulatory therapy
  • Ocular surface protection by restoring tear film balance and preventing chronic progression
  • Post-refractive procedures (LASIK/PRK) under ophthalmologist guidance to support epithelial recovery
  • Adjunctive therapy alongside preservative-free lubricants or gel-based artificial tears

Benefits & Effectiveness

  • Higher 0.05% concentration provides stronger anti-inflammatory activity than lower-strength formulations
  • Enhances natural tear production by reducing T-cell–mediated inflammation on the ocular surface
  • Improves persistent symptoms including burning, stinging, foreign-body sensation, and ocular fatigue
  • Supports corneal healing, epithelial health, and long-term tear film stability
  • Gradual but meaningful improvement generally seen after 4–12 weeks of consistent use

Directions for Use

  • Instill one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, roughly 12 hours apart or as directed by your ophthalmologist
  • Wash hands thoroughly before application
  • Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye
  • If using artificial tears, separate each product by at least 15 minutes
  • Remove contact lenses before use and reinsert after 15 minutes
  • Daily and continuous use is essential for optimal therapeutic benefit

Storage

  • Store at room temperature below 25–30°C
  • Protect from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight
  • Do not freeze
  • Keep tightly closed when not in use
  • Discard any remaining solution 4 weeks after opening

Possible Side Effects

Common: Temporary burning or stinging, mild redness, irritation, blurred vision
Uncommon: Excessive tearing, eyelid inflammation, minor discharge
Rare / Serious: Severe pain, sudden changes in vision, signs of infection — discontinue use and seek immediate medical care

FAQs

Cyclomune Eye Drop (Cyclosporine 0.05%) is used to treat chronic dry eye (keratoconjunctivitis sicca) caused by inflammation or reduced tear production. It helps restore tear film stability and provides long-term relief from eye dryness and irritation.
Temporary burning, stinging, or redness may occur after use. Rarely, excessive tearing or blurred vision can appear. These side effects are usually mild and subside with continued use.
Cyclosporine is an immunosuppressant that reduces ocular inflammation by inhibiting T-cell activation in the lacrimal glands. This promotes natural tear secretion and healing of the ocular surface.
Instill one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, about 12 hours apart. Wash hands before use and avoid touching the dropper tip. Remove contact lenses prior to application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
It is prescribed for patients with moderate to severe chronic dry eye due to inflammation. It should not be used in patients with active eye infections or known hypersensitivity to cyclosporine or its excipients.
