Product Description

Nevanac Eye Drop (Nepafenac 0.1%) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory ophthalmic suspension (NSAID) designed to reduce pain and inflammation following cataract surgery.
Nepafenac is a prodrug that converts to amfenac in ocular tissues, delivering targeted anti-inflammatory activity at the site of action.
Nevanac helps control post-operative discomfort, swelling, and photophobia, and is widely used as part of standard cataract recovery protocols.

Indications & Uses

  • Post-cataract surgery inflammation: Reduces swelling and helps restore comfort after surgery.
  • Post-operative pain: Relieves ocular pain, irritation, and sensitivity to light.
  • Adjunctive use: May be combined with corticosteroid eye drops when stronger anti-inflammatory control is required.
  • Diabetic patients: Sometimes recommended to help prevent macular edema after cataract surgery under specialist supervision.

Benefits & Effectiveness

  • Potent NSAID effect that reduces prostaglandin-mediated inflammation.
  • Prodrug design allows efficient penetration into ocular tissues for targeted action.
  • Helps alleviate post-operative pain, burning, foreign-body sensation, and photophobia.
  • Supports faster visual recovery by reducing inflammatory swelling.
  • Often preferred for patients who need a steroid-sparing anti-inflammatory option.

Directions for Use

  • Instill one drop in the affected eye(s) three times daily, beginning one day before cataract surgery, continuing on the day of surgery, and for up to 2 weeks after surgery, or exactly as directed by your ophthalmologist.
  • Shake well before each use to ensure proper suspension.
  • Wash hands thoroughly before application and avoid touching the dropper tip.
  • If using other ophthalmic medications, allow at least 5 minutes between each product.
  • Do not wear contact lenses during the post-operative period unless specifically approved by your surgeon.

Storage

  • Store at room temperature (below 25–30°C).
  • Protect from direct sunlight, moisture, and excessive heat.
  • Do not freeze.
  • Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
  • Discard any remaining solution 4 weeks after opening.

Possible Side Effects

  • Common: mild burning or stinging, temporary blurred vision, eye discomfort.
  • Uncommon: dry eyes, redness, eyelid irritation, headache.
  • Rare / Serious: corneal thinning, delayed wound healing, increased intraocular pressure—stop use and seek immediate medical care if severe symptoms occur.
