This dual-action inhaler combines Formoterol, a long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA), and Budesonide, a corticosteroid, to manage airway inflammation and bronchospasms. Formoterol works as a bronchodilator, relaxing the airway muscles and allowing smooth breathing for up to 12 hours, making it particularly beneficial for patients with exercise-induced bronchospasms, persistent asthma, and COPD exacerbations. Budesonide, on the other hand, is a potent inhaled corticosteroid that reduces airway inflammation, preventing asthma attacks and frequent respiratory distress. Foracort 100 Rotacaps is specially formulated for use in a dry powder inhaler (DPI), ensuring efficient drug delivery without the need for propellants, making it easier to inhale for individuals who struggle with conventional metered-dose inhalers (MDIs). It is a controller medication, meaning it is not for immediate relief but rather for long-term asthma and COPD management.

For the Treatment of Bronchial Asthma For Maintenance Therapy: Typically, adults inhale 1 dose (Budesonide 160μg, Formoterol 4.5μg) twice daily. The dosage may be adjusted depending on symptoms, but the maximum single dose is 4 inhalations, with a daily limit of 8 inhalations. For Both Maintenance Therapy and As-Needed Use: Adults usually take 1 or 2 inhalations twice a day regularly and add extra doses when symptoms occur. In case of an asthma attack, take 1 inhalation initially. If symptoms persist after a few minutes, an additional 1 inhalation can be taken. This process can be repeated as needed, but no more than 6 inhalations per single episode. The usual daily limit is 8 inhalations, but in temporary cases, it may be increased up to 12 inhalations per day. However, if the total daily dose exceeds 8 inhalations, medical consultation is advised as soon as possible. For the Relief of Symptoms in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) (Chronic Bronchitis & Emphysema) Typically, adults inhale 2 doses (Budesonide 320μg, Formoterol 9μg) twice daily.
