Furamist Nasal Spray is a generic equivalent of Flixonase, containing Fluticasone Propionate 27.5mcg per spray. It is a topical corticosteroid specifically formulated for nasal administration to relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and nasal congestion. Its anti-inflammatory action makes it highly effective for daily management of nasal allergy symptoms.
- Furamist Nasal Spray is indicated for the treatment and prevention of nasal symptoms caused by allergies, including hay fever, dust mites, animal dander, or pollen. - As a topical corticosteroid, it reduces inflammation in the nasal passages, helping relieve nasal congestion, sneezing, and mucus discharge. - It can also be used in cases of nasal polyps, non-infectious rhinitis, and post-nasal drip symptoms, providing long-lasting symptom control when used consistently.
- Fluticasone Propionate works by inhibiting the release of inflammatory substances like histamines, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins within the nasal tissues. - This results in reduced swelling, decreased mucus production, and improved airflow through the nasal passages.
- Shake the bottle well before each use. - Adults and children over 12 years: Use 2 sprays in each nostril once daily, preferably in the morning. - Once symptoms are controlled, the dose may be reduced to 1 spray per nostril daily. - Do not exceed recommended dosage. Rinse the nozzle regularly and avoid spraying directly onto the nasal septum.
- Store below 30°C, in a dry place away from sunlight and moisture. - Keep the cap tightly closed when not in use. Do not freeze.
- Common side effects may include nasal dryness, irritation, mild nosebleeds, sore throat, or headache. - Long-term use may rarely cause nasal septum perforation or slight adrenal suppression. - Seek medical attention if symptoms persist or worsen.
