Ipravent 250 Respirator Solution is a generic inhalation formulation containing Ipratropium 250mcg, a short-acting anticholinergic bronchodilator. It is widely used for symptomatic relief in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and chronic bronchitis, particularly when airway constriction and mucus hypersecretion are present. By blocking muscarinic receptors in the airway smooth muscle, Ipratropium inhibits parasympathetic-mediated bronchial contraction and reduces mucus production, resulting in easier breathing. This solution is administered via nebulization and is especially effective for patients who require rapid symptom relief, including during acute exacerbations of COPD or asthma. Additionally, Ipravent is beneficial in managing post-infectious bronchospasm following influenza or upper respiratory tract infections. It is also sometimes used off-label for allergic rhinitis, helping reduce nasal congestion and runny nose through its local anticholinergic effects.

- Dilute the prescribed dose of Ipravent 250 Respirator Solution in 0.9% saline, unless otherwise directed. - Use with a nebulizer machine, typically 3–4 times daily, depending on severity and physician guidance. - Do not exceed the recommended dose. - Rinse the nebulizer chamber after each use to avoid contamination. - Wash hands before and after handling the medication.
- Store below 25°C, away from direct light and heat. - Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. - Do not freeze. - Keep out of reach of children.
- Common: Dry mouth, cough, bitter taste, throat irritation. - Less common: Dizziness, headache, nausea, blurred vision (if mist contacts eyes). - Rare: Allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or breathing difficulty. - Prolonged use may occasionally lead to urinary retention, especially in older males with prostate issues.
