Seroflo 50 Inhaler is a combination metered dose inhaler (MDI) containing Fluticasone Propionate 50mcg and Salmeterol 25mcg, developed for the long-term management of respiratory diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Fluticasone belongs to the inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) class, reducing inflammation in the airways, while Salmeterol is a long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA) that relaxes bronchial muscles to improve airflow. This dual-action inhaler helps to prevent bronchospasm, control daily symptoms, and reduce the frequency of exacerbations. It is ideal for patients who require both anti-inflammatory maintenance and sustained bronchodilation, particularly when single-agent therapy is insufficient. As a preventive therapy, Seroflo 50 is not intended for acute asthma attacks but is effective in establishing long-term respiratory stability.
- Respiratory Diseases > Used for the maintenance treatment of asthma and COPD. > Ideal for patients who require both anti-inflammatory control and long-acting bronchodilation. > Classified under inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and LABA combination therapy. > Reduces airway hyperresponsiveness and minimizes nocturnal symptoms.
- Fluticasone (ICS): Decreases airway inflammation, suppresses cytokine production, and reduces mucus secretion. - Salmeterol (LABA): Provides sustained bronchodilation for up to 12 hours, improving airflow and reducing wheezing. - Synergistic Effect: The combination works more effectively than monotherapy in reducing asthma exacerbations. - Improved Quality of Life: Helps patients maintain better daily control and physical activity levels.
- Shake the inhaler well before use. - Inhale one puff twice daily or as directed by a physician. - Breathe out fully before inhalation, then press the canister and inhale deeply. - Rinse the mouth after use to prevent oral thrush or hoarseness. - Regular use is essential, even when symptoms are absent.
- Store below 30°C, away from heat and direct sunlight. - Do not puncture or incinerate the canister. - Keep the inhaler cap clean and dry. - Keep out of reach of children.
- Common: Headache, hoarseness, throat irritation, cough. - Less Common: Tremor, palpitations, increased heart rate. - Rare: Oral candidiasis, allergic reactions, adrenal suppression (in long-term use). - Seek medical advice if breathing difficulty worsens or if there are signs of infection.
