- Sleep & Mental Health > ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) Atomoxet 60 is used to manage core symptoms of ADHD, including poor attention span, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. It is often selected as an alternative to stimulant medications in cases where patients are at risk of substance misuse, have comorbid anxiety, or experience intolerable side effects from stimulants.
- Enhances norepinephrine activity to support attention and behavioral regulation - Minimizes impulsivity and hyperactivity - Does not act on dopamine receptors, reducing abuse potential - Effective in managing symptoms throughout the day with a single dose - Particularly helpful for individuals with sleep disturbances or stimulant intolerance
- Adults (Over 70 kg): - Initial Dose: 40 mg/day orally - Maintenance Dose: Increase to 80 mg/day after 3 days - Maximum Dose: May be increased to 100 mg/day after 2–4 weeks if necessary - Children/Adolescents (≤70 kg): - Initial Dose: 0.5 mg/kg/day - Maintenance Dose: 1.2 mg/kg/day - Maximum Dose: 1.4 mg/kg/day or 100 mg/day, whichever is lower - Administration Advice: - Take once daily in the morning or split between morning and late afternoon - Can be taken with or without food - Swallow capsules whole; do not open or crush - Dose adjustments may be necessary in hepatic impairment or CYP2D6-poor metabolizers

Ich habe lange gezögert, ein Medikament gegen ADHS zu nehmen, weil ich keine Stimulanzien wollte. Atomoxet 60mg war eine angenehme Überraschung. Nach etwa 10 Tagen habe ich gemerkt, dass ich meine Aufgaben strukturierter angehe und weniger impulsiv bin. Keine Euphorie, aber auch keine Abstürze. Nur etwas trockener Mund manchmal. Sehr empfehlenswert für Erwachsene mit ADHS.
