Asprito 10 is a generic version of aripiprazole, an atypical antipsychotic medication used to manage various psychiatric disorders. It helps restore the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain, improving symptoms such as mood swings, hallucinations, and social dysfunction, especially in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Aripiprazole works as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors and as an antagonist at 5-HT2A receptors. This dual action helps restore the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain, improving psychotic symptoms and mood disorders with relatively lower risk of sedation or weight gain.
Adult Dosing: - Schizophrenia: Oral immediate-release tablets start at 10–15 mg once daily; usual dose is 10–15 mg/day; max 30 mg/day. - Bipolar Disorder: Oral IR monotherapy starts at 15 mg daily; max 30 mg/day. If used adjunctively with lithium or valproate, dose is 10–15 mg/day. - Depression (adjunctive): Start with 2–5 mg daily; increase by ≤5 mg weekly as needed; maintenance 2–15 mg/day; max 15 mg/day. - Agitation (acute): IM 9.75 mg as needed; maintenance 5.25–15 mg/day; max 30 mg/day. Pediatric Dosing: - Schizophrenia (13–17 years): Start at 2 mg, titrate to 5 mg after 2 days, then to 10 mg after 2 more days; maintenance 10 mg/day; max 30 mg/day. - Bipolar Disorder (10–17 years): Same titration as schizophrenia; max 30 mg/day. - Autism (6–17 years): Start 2 mg, increase to 5 mg, then 10 or 15 mg as needed; maintenance 5–15 mg/day; max 15 mg/day. - Tourette Syndrome (6–18 years): <50 kg: Start 2 mg, titrate to 5 mg; max 10 mg/day. ≥50 kg: Start 2 mg, titrate to 5 mg, then to 10 mg by day 8; max 20 mg/day. General Comments: Dosage titration is typically done in 1–2 week intervals. Extended-release injectable forms require initial oral supplementation and tolerability confirmation. Regular reassessment of dose and effectiveness is recommended.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture. Ensure that the medication is kept out of reach of children and stored at room temperature. Do not freeze or expose to excessive humidity.
Common side effects may include headache, nausea, insomnia, dizziness, anxiety, and weight gain. Some patients may experience akathisia or restlessness. Serious but rare effects include tardive dyskinesia and neuroleptic malignant syndrome, particularly with long-term use or high doses.
