Product Description

Ovral-L is a low-dose combined oral contraceptive containing Ethinyl Estradiol 0.03 mg and Levonorgestrel 0.15 mg. It prevents pregnancy by blocking ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to stop sperm, and altering the endometrium to reduce implantation. In addition to contraception, it helps regulate menstrual cycles, ease period pain, and support Acne Treatment. The low estrogen dose improves tolerability, making it suitable for first-time users and women sensitive to estrogen.

Directions for Use

Indication:
Indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in adult and postmenarchal females
Oral Tablet Dosage:

Initiate on either:
Day 1 of menstruation (Day 1 Start), or
First Sunday after menstruation begins (Sunday Start)
Dosing intervals must not exceed 24 hours for optimal efficacy
Transdermal Patch Dosage (if switching or combining modalities):
Apply one patch weekly for 3 weeks (Week 1 to 3)
Week 4 is patch-free to allow for withdrawal bleeding
Start new cycle on Week 5
Special Considerations:
Apply the first patch within 24 hours of menstruation onset
Patch use not advised for patients with BMI ≥30 kg/m² due to reduced contraceptive efficacy and elevated risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE)
For BMI 25–30 kg/m², clinical judgment and close monitoring are required
