Alzil-M Forte is a fixed-dose combination tablet that contains donepezil 10mg and memantine 10mg, specifically formulated for the management of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. This dual-ingredient approach integrates two pharmacological mechanisms—enhancing cholinergic function and mitigating excitotoxic neuronal damage—to provide comprehensive cognitive and behavioral support. Donepezil acts by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, thereby maintaining acetylcholine levels essential for memory, attention, and learning. Memantine, an NMDA receptor antagonist, modulates excessive glutamate activity to prevent overstimulation and neurodegeneration. Together, they form a synergistic regimen that targets the complex pathology of Alzheimer’s. Alzil-M Forte offers significant improvements in mental clarity, daily functioning, and emotional stability. It is particularly effective in patients who have already responded well to individual therapy and require long-term, simplified dosing to maintain therapeutic continuity and compliance.

Alzil-M Forte contains donepezil and memantine, each targeting a different mechanism of neurodegeneration. Donepezil elevates acetylcholine concentrations in the brain by inhibiting its breakdown, enhancing signal transmission between neurons involved in memory and cognition. Memantine prevents overstimulation of NMDA receptors by regulating glutamate activity, thereby protecting neurons from calcium-mediated excitotoxicity. This dual mechanism is particularly suitable for advanced-stage dementia, offering both symptomatic relief and neuroprotection. The combination is well-tolerated over extended periods and does not cause dependence.
For patients stabilized on memantine (10 mg twice daily or 28 mg ER once daily) and donepezil 10 mg once daily: → Switch to a fixed-dose combination of memantine 28 mg ER and donepezil 10 mg taken once daily in the evening For patients with severe renal impairment: → Use memantine 5 mg twice daily or 14 mg ER once daily with donepezil 10 mg daily before transitioning Begin the combination treatment the day after the last separate doses are taken. Take the tablet whole with water. May be taken with or without food. Do not crush or split the tablet. Follow your physician’s instructions strictly.
Store at or below 25°C in a dry place, away from moisture and heat. Avoid direct sunlight exposure. Keep tightly sealed in the original container. Store out of reach of children.
Common side effects: nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, headache, fatigue, insomnia Less common effects: bradycardia, hallucinations, agitation, elevated blood pressure, abdominal discomfort Seek immediate medical attention if severe symptoms occur, such as fainting, hallucinations, or confusion.
