Donep 10 is a generic donepezil 10mg formulation, classified as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor widely used in the management of Alzheimer’s disease. By maintaining acetylcholine levels in the brain, it slows cognitive decline, supports memory recall, and enhances daily functionality.
This medication is primarily prescribed for elderly patients with mild to severe dementia, improving orientation, communication, and independence. Patients stabilized on memantine (10mg BID or 28mg ER QD) + donepezil 10mg QD:
Take memantine 28mg ER – donepezil 10mg orally once daily in the evening.
For severe renal impairment:
Use memantine 5mg BID or 14mg ER QD with donepezil 10mg QD.
