Norflox Eye Drop (Norfloxacin 0.3%) is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic formulated to treat bacterial infections of the eye. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA-gyrase, preventing bacterial replication and eliminating the causative pathogens. Effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, Norflox is commonly prescribed for conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other external ocular infections. Its fast-acting antibacterial action helps reduce redness, discharge, irritation, and infection-related discomfort.

Indications & Uses

  • Bacterial Conjunctivitis: Reduces redness, discharge, irritation, and microbial load.
  • Blepharitis / Blepharoconjunctivitis: Useful for lid margin infections and mixed anterior segment infections.
  • Corneal Abrasions (Infection Prevention): Helps prevent secondary infection (under supervision).
  • Post-Trauma Contamination: Supports anti-infective protection after minor ocular injury.
  • Pre/Post-Operative Prophylaxis: May be used before or after eye procedures if antibiotic coverage is required.

Directions for Use

  • If using additional eye medications, allow 5 minutes between each product.
  • Do not wear contact lenses until the infection has fully resolved.
  • Continue the full course even if symptoms improve to prevent recurrence.

Storage

  • Store at room temperature (below 25–30°C).
  • Protect from sunlight, moisture, and excessive heat.
  • Keep tightly closed when not in use.
  • Do not freeze.
  • Discard after 4 weeks of opening.

Possible Side Effects

Common: Mild stinging or burning, transient blurred vision, eye irritation.
Uncommon: Redness, dryness, eyelid itching.
Rare / Serious: Allergic reaction, swelling, worsening infection—stop use and seek medical care immediately.
