Erythrocin 250 contains Erythromycin 250mg, a macrolide antibiotic manufactured by Abbott Laboratories. It is widely prescribed for treating respiratory diseases, skin infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections.

It is effective against skin and soft tissue infections such as cellulitis, impetigo, and acne, and also serves as an alternative treatment for syphilis in patients allergic to penicillin. Additionally, it can be prescribed for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and infections caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae.

In respiratory medicine, Erythrocin 250 plays a vital role in managing atypical pneumonia, Mycoplasma pneumonia, bronchitis, and secondary bacterial infections linked to influenza and colds. It is also used for upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis) and as an adjunct treatment in COPD exacerbations due to bacterial infections.
