Phexin 250 is a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic containing Cephalexin 250mg, designed for the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs), respiratory infections, and skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs). It is effective against Gram-positive bacteria such as Streptococcus and Staphylococcus, making it a preferred choice for mild to moderate bacterial infections. Cephalexin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial lysis and cell death. Due to its broad safety profile and effectiveness, it is commonly used in individuals who cannot tolerate penicillin-based antibiotics. While it is effective in treating respiratory and skin infections, it is not recommended for multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacterial infections or severe systemic infections requiring hospital-based intravenous therapy.
Antibiotics & Infections Effectively treats cystitis and urinary tract infections (UTIs), including bladder infections. Also used for skin & soft tissue infections (SSTIs) such as cellulitis, abscesses, and wound infections. Respiratory Diseases Prescribed for bacterial bronchitis, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis, as well as flu-related bacterial complications like sinusitis and otitis media. Diseases & Symptoms Effective for oral health infections, including dental abscesses, periodontal infections, and post-dental procedures. ✔ Suitable for mild-to-moderate bacterial infections. ✔ Can be an alternative for patients with penicillin allergies.
Phexin 250 contains Cephalexin, a first-generation cephalosporin that effectively treats Gram-positive bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed for mild infections affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, and soft tissues. By binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), Cephalexin prevents bacterial cell wall synthesis, ultimately leading to bacterial death. This mode of action makes it a highly reliable treatment for Streptococcus and Staphylococcus infections. It is often used as an alternative for penicillin-allergic patients and is commonly prescribed for skin infections (such as abscesses and cellulitis), as well as uncomplicated UTIs.
For Antibiotics & Infections > Cystitis - Take Phexin 250 as prescribed by your doctor for the treatment of cystitis and urinary tract infections (UTIs). - Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water. - It can be taken with or without food, but consuming it with meals may help reduce stomach discomfort. - Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve early to prevent bacterial resistance. - Avoid alcohol while taking this medication, as it may increase the risk of nausea or dizziness. - If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your healthcare provider. For Antibiotics & Infections > Skin and Soft Tissue Infections (SSTIs) - Take Phexin 250 as directed by your healthcare provider for bacterial skin and soft tissue infections such as abscesses and cellulitis. - Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water. - Taking it with food is recommended to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort. - Complete the full prescribed course to prevent bacterial resistance and reinfection. - Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment, as it may increase the risk of side effects. - If symptoms do not improve or worsen, seek medical attention. For Antibiotics & Infections > Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) - Take Phexin 250 exactly as prescribed for urinary tract infections, including bladder infections and pyelonephritis. - Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water. - It is best taken with meals to improve drug absorption and reduce the risk of stomach upset. - Complete the entire prescribed course to prevent recurrence and antibiotic resistance. - Avoid alcohol consumption while on this medication to minimize potential side effects. - If symptoms persist, worsen, or if you experience side effects, contact your doctor promptly.
