Product Description

Cazanat 40 contains cabozantinib 40 mg, an oral multikinase inhibitor targeting MET, VEGFR, RET and other pathways that drive tumor angiogenesis, invasion and metastasis. The tablet formulation is indicated for several advanced malignancies where prior therapies have failed or disease is progressive.

Available through trusted online pharmacy channels, the tablet is used as once-daily systemic therapy—either as monotherapy or in specified combination regimens—to improve disease control in resistant thyroid, kidney and liver cancers. Tablets are distinct from the capsule formulation (capsules reserved for medullary thyroid cancer) and are not interchangeable.

Indications & Uses

  • AntiCancer Drugs | Differentiated Thyroid Cancer (RAI-refractory)
Indicated for radioactive-iodine-refractory differentiated thyroid carcinoma in adults and selected pediatrics; tablets used for DTC dosing.
  • AntiCancer Drugs | Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC)
Indicated for previously treated advanced RCC as monotherapy or at a lower tablet dose when used in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors.
  • AntiCancer Drugs | Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)
Indicated for HCC after prior sorafenib therapy to delay progression.

Benefits & Effectiveness

  • Broad tyrosine-kinase coverage (VEGFR-1/2/3, MET, AXL, RET) → reduces tumor vascularity and disrupts survival pathways.
  • Demonstrated activity across multiple tumor types with measurable improvements in progression-free survival and objective responses in pretreated patients.
  • Oral, once-daily tablet improves adherence and enables outpatient systemic therapy for resistant cancers.
  • Tablet formulation allows indication-specific dosing strategies (tablet ≠ capsule; do not substitute formulations).

Directions for Use

  • Differentiated Thyroid Cancer (tablets only)
Adults & pediatrics (BSA ≥ 1.2 m²): 60 mg once daily.
Pediatrics (BSA < 1.2 m²): 40 mg once daily.
Indication: RAI-refractory or ineligible patients, often after VEGFR therapy.
  • Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC)
    Monotherapy: 60 mg once daily.
With nivolumab (combination): 40 mg once daily (follow combination protocol and consult nivolumab label).
  • Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)
60 mg once daily in patients previously treated with sorafenib.
  • Administration instructions (tablets):
Take at the same time each day, on an empty stomach. Avoid food for at least 2 hours before and 1 hour after dosing.
Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.
Do not substitute tablets for capsules (capsules reserved for medullary thyroid cancer dosing).
Withhold therapy before major surgery (typically ≥3 weeks) and resume only after adequate wound healing.
  • Monitoring & precautions: monitor blood pressure, liver function tests, electrolytes, thyroid function as indicated, and assess for signs of GI perforation, hemorrhage, thromboembolism, palmar-plantar erythrodysaesthesia, and QT prolongation. Interrupt or reduce dose for grade ≥2 toxicities per protocol.

Storage

  • Store at room temperature below 30°C, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original container; keep out of reach of children. Do not use past expiration.

Possible Side Effects

  • Very common: diarrhea, fatigue, decreased appetite, hypertension, palmar-plantar (hand-foot) reaction.
  • Common/serious: mucositis/stomatitis, elevated liver enzymes, proteinuria, wound-healing complications.
  • Serious but less frequent: hemorrhage, gastrointestinal perforation, venous and arterial thromboembolism, osteonecrosis of the jaw, severe hepatic injury, and QT prolongation.

Manage adverse events with supportive care, dose interruption, dose reduction, or permanent discontinuation per prescribing guidance.
