Product Description

Cizumab 100 is a 100mg/4ml injectable formulation of bevacizumab, a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). It works by binding VEGF-A, thereby preventing its interaction with VEGF receptors on the surface of endothelial cells. This inhibition halts angiogenesis—the formation of new blood vessels—which is essential for tumor growth and metastasis. Bevacizumab is not a standalone treatment but is used in combination with chemotherapy across various advanced solid tumors. It has demonstrated clinical benefit in prolonging overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and controlling disease-related symptoms such as edema, hemorrhage, and tumor perfusion instability.

Indications & Uses

  • AntiCancer Drugs > Colorectal Cancer
Used in combination with chemotherapy regimens like FOLFOX, FOLFIRI, or CAPEOX in first- and second-line settings for metastatic colorectal cancer. It enhances drug delivery by normalizing tumor vasculature and improves overall survival.

  • Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (non-squamous)
Administered with platinum-based doublets (e.g., carboplatin + paclitaxel) as a first-line option for unresectable or metastatic non-squamous NSCLC. It has shown particular benefit in cases with high angiogenic signaling or cerebral metastases.

  • Glioblastoma
Indicated for recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), especially where steroid-refractory cerebral edema and mass effect are present. It reduces peritumoral edema and improves neurologic symptoms by suppressing VEGF overexpression.

  • Renal Cell Carcinoma
Used in combination with interferon-alfa in metastatic clear cell RCC. It represents one of the earliest anti-VEGF therapies used in systemic treatment for kidney cancer.

  • Cervical Cancer
Combines with topotecan + cisplatin or paclitaxel in persistent, recurrent, or metastatic cases. Clinical trials have shown improved survival when added to cytotoxic chemotherapy.

  • Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, Peritoneal Cancers
Approved for both front-line and recurrent platinum-sensitive and platinum-resistant cases. Often combined with carboplatin + paclitaxel or pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD). Also indicated as maintenance therapy following initial treatment response.

  • Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Given in combination with atezolizumab for advanced or unresectable HCC. This duo forms a standard first-line immunotherapy regimen as per international guidelines.

Benefits & Effectiveness

  • Binds VEGF-A to block angiogenesis, tumor vascularization, and nutrient delivery

  • Normalizes leaky tumor vasculature, improving chemotherapy penetration

  • Reduces vascular permeability, edema, and intracranial pressure

  • Synergizes with multiple chemotherapeutic backbones across tumor types
