Lupimeb 100 is a generic formulation of mebendazole 100mg, a broad-spectrum anthelmintic widely used to treat intestinal helminth infections. It works by irreversibly blocking glucose uptake in parasitic worms, causing energy depletion and death.

Mebendazole selectively inhibits tubulin polymerization in intestinal cells of helminths, blocking glucose uptake. This causes ATP depletion, immobilization, and parasite death.
[Adult Dosing] - Hookworm, Whipworm, Ascariasis: 100 mg BID for 3 days or 500 mg once Repeat in 3 weeks if not fully cured - Pinworm: 100 mg single dose Repeat in 2 weeks; treat household members if reinfection likely - Capillariasis: 200 mg BID for 20 days - Trichostrongylosis: 100 mg BID for 3 days - Trichinosis: 200–400 mg TID × 3 days, then 400–500 mg TID × 10 days Use corticosteroids in severe cases - Visceral Larva Migrans: 100–200 mg BID for 5–20 days Extend treatment if CNS or ocular involvement [Pediatric Dosing] - Hookworm, Whipworm, Ascariasis: ≥2 years: 100 mg BID for 3 days ≥1 year (chewable): 500 mg single dose - Pinworm: ≥2 years: 100 mg once Repeat in 2 weeks if needed - Capillariasis: 200 mg BID for 20 days - Trichostrongylosis: 100 mg BID for 3 days - Trichinosis: 200–400 mg TID for 3 days, then 400–500 mg TID for 10 days Add steroids in severe cases - Visceral Larva Migrans: 100–200 mg BID for 5–20 days
Store in a dry, cool location under 30°C. Keep away from moisture and sunlight.
Possible side effects include abdominal pain, diarrhea, flatulence, headache, and rare allergic reactions. Long-term or high-dose use may require liver function monitoring.
