Product Description

Mektovi 15mg is an oral anticancer agent containing binimetinib, a MEK inhibitor used in combination with encorafenib for treating advanced melanoma. This targeted therapy inhibits MEK1 and MEK2, key enzymes in the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway, often overactive in BRAF-mutated cancers. Mektovi is indicated for patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma harboring BRAF V600E or V600K mutations, helping delay disease progression, reduce tumor size, and improve overall survival when surgery is not an option. Safe procurement is available via trusted online pharmacy channels.

Indications & Uses

  • AntiCancer Drugs > Unresectable or Metastatic Melanoma with BRAF Mutation
Mektovi is prescribed in combination with encorafenib for adult patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma carrying BRAF V600E or V600K mutations. This dual-targeted approach blocks the downstream MEK pathway, a critical driver of cell proliferation in melanoma, especially in patients ineligible for curative surgery.

Benefits & Effectiveness

  • Binimetinib selectively inhibits MEK1/2, downstream components of the RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK pathway, which is hyperactivated in BRAF-mutated tumors.

  • Suppresses tumor cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis.

  • When combined with encorafenib (a BRAF inhibitor), it provides synergistic effects, improving progression-free survival and objective response rates.

  • Supports integration into multidisciplinary care plans for advanced melanoma, occasionally complementing adjunct therapies where dermatologic care is relevant, such as Tretinoin Cream, Isotretinoin, or Acne Treatment.

Directions for Use

  • Metastatic Melanoma (Adults): 45 mg orally every 12 hours in combination with encorafenib, continue until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.

  • Always follow encorafenib prescribing information for correct co-administration.

  • Can be taken with or without food.

  • If a dose is missed and less than 6 hours remain before the next dose, skip it; do not retake if vomiting occurs.

  • Confirm BRAF V600E or V600K mutation via FDA-approved diagnostic test prior to therapy initiation.

Storage

Store at 20–25°C (68–77°F). Protect from moisture and light. Keep in original packaging until use. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

Possible Side Effects

  • Common: fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, and diarrhea.

  • Serious: ocular toxicity (retinal detachment, blurred vision), elevated liver enzymes, decreased cardiac ejection fraction, interstitial lung disease.

  • Regular monitoring with ophthalmologic exams, liver function tests, and cardiac assessments is recommended. Report visual changes, shortness of breath, or persistent fatigue promptly.
