Product Description

Libtayo Injection 350mg is an intravenous monoclonal antibody formulation containing cemiplimab-rwlc, a fully human IgG4 antibody that targets the PD-1 (programmed cell death-1) receptor. By blocking PD-1 interaction with its ligands (PD-L1 and PD-L2), Libtayo restores T-cell activity and enhances the immune system's ability to recognize and attack cancer cells. It is administered as an IV infusion every three weeks and used across multiple advanced-stage cancers.

Indications & Uses

- AntiCancer Drugs > Advanced Skin Cancers and NSCLC Indicated for patients with locally advanced or metastatic cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (laCSCC/mCSCC), basal cell carcinoma (laBCC/mBCC), and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Libtayo is used when surgery or radiation is not viable or in cases of disease progression. As an immune checkpoint inhibitor, it is suitable for both monotherapy and combination regimens, depending on the tumor profile.

Benefits & Effectiveness

Cemiplimab-rwlc is an immune checkpoint inhibitor that binds to the PD-1 receptor, preventing its interaction with PD-L1 and PD-L2. This enhances T-cell mediated antitumor activity by lifting inhibitory immune signals. Clinical trials have demonstrated durable response rates in various cancers, particularly skin and lung cancers, by reactivating the immune response against tumor cells.

Directions for Use

For laBCC or mBCC: - 350 mg via intravenous infusion every 3 weeks - Continue treatment until disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, or for up to 24 months For laCSCC or mCSCC: - 350 mg IV infusion every 3 weeks - Duration: until disease progression or toxicity limits are reached, up to 24 months For NSCLC: - 350 mg IV infusion every 3 weeks - Administer as monotherapy or in combination, following relevant combination guidelines Infusion should be administered over 30 minutes under supervision. Do not mix with other drugs. Monitor for signs of immune-related toxicities.

Storage

Store in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C. Protect from light. Do not freeze or shake. Once removed from refrigeration, use immediately or store at room temperature (up to 25°C) for no more than 24 hours before use.

Possible Side Effects

Common adverse effects include fatigue, diarrhea, rash, pruritus, hypothyroidism, and pneumonitis. Immune-mediated reactions may affect the lungs, liver, endocrine glands, and gastrointestinal tract. Permanent discontinuation may be required for severe Grade 4 toxicity or steroid-refractory inflammation. No dose reduction is recommended.
