Product Description

Ramiven 150 is a generic formulation of abemaciclib 150mg, an oral CDK4/6 inhibitor indicated for the treatment of hormone receptor-positive (HR+), HER2-negative breast cancer. By inhibiting cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6, it disrupts cell cycle progression from the G1 to S phase, thereby preventing tumor cell proliferation.

Unlike other agents in its class, Ramiven 150 is notable for being the only CDK4/6 inhibitor approved as monotherapy in specific advanced breast cancer settings. Additionally, it is approved for 2-year adjuvant therapy in early-stage breast cancer, expanding its role beyond metastatic disease into curative-intent treatment strategies.

Indications & Uses

  • AntiCancer Drugs > Hormone Receptor Positive, HER2 Negative Breast Cancer
Used in combination with endocrine therapy for advanced or metastatic HR+/HER2- breast cancer. Demonstrates significant benefit in delaying disease progression and improving overall survival.

  • AntiCancer Drugs > Early Stage Breast Cancer
Approved as an adjuvant treatment to lower the risk of recurrence in patients with high-risk HR+/HER2- early breast cancer. Particularly effective in node-positive cases when administered for up to 2 years.

  • AntiCancer Drugs > Off-label Solid Tumors
Under investigation for use in lung, head and neck, gastrointestinal, and other solid tumors characterized by CDK pathway dysregulation or chemotherapy resistance, expanding its potential role beyond breast cancer.

Benefits & Effectiveness

Abemaciclib 150mg functions as a CDK4/6 enzyme inhibitor, blocking the transition from the G1 to S phase of the cell cycle. By preventing DNA replication, it effectively suppresses tumor cell proliferation.

Unlike other CDK4/6 inhibitors, it provides continuous target inhibition, which contributes to its sustained antitumor activity. This makes it effective in both combination regimens with endocrine therapy and as monotherapy in selected breast cancer settings.
