Fenolip 145 contains 145mg of Fenofibrate, a lipid-modifying agent classified as a fibric acid derivative. It is primarily prescribed for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Fenofibrate works by activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα), which enhances the breakdown and clearance of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and promotes an increase in HDL cholesterol. It effectively lowers elevated triglycerides and LDL cholesterol levels while raising HDL levels, making it a key agent in managing atherogenic lipid profiles. Fenolip 145 is often used as monotherapy or in combination with statins in patients at high cardiovascular risk, particularly those with metabolic syndrome, diabetes, or established coronary artery disease.

As a result, it reduces total cholesterol, LDL-C, VLDL-C, and triglycerides, while increasing HDL-C. These changes contribute to plaque stabilization, reduced vascular inflammation, and lower cardiovascular event rates, particularly in patients with elevated triglycerides or metabolic syndrome. General Dosing (Hyperlipidemia, Dyslipidemia): → Usual dose: 90–200 mg orally once daily → Max dose: 200 mg/day → Discontinue if no response after 2 months at max dose Type IV / Type V Hyperlipidemia (Elevated VLDL, Chylomicrons): → Tablets: typical dose range: 40–160 mg/day → Adjust dose every 4–8 weeks based on lipid profile → Reduce dose if lipids normalize significantly → Discontinue if inadequate response after 2 months of maximum therapy Use as an adjunct to diet and lifestyle changes. Take with food to enhance absorption. Swallow whole without crushing or chewing. Monitor lipid panel, liver enzymes, and renal function periodically during treatment.
