Rosulip 10mg contains 10mg of Rosuvastatin, a next-generation statin that effectively manages lipid disorders and reduces cardiovascular risk. As an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, Rosuvastatin works by suppressing hepatic cholesterol synthesis, which leads to enhanced expression of LDL receptors and greater clearance of circulating LDL particles. Rosulip 10mg is commonly used as an initial or maintenance dose in adults with elevated cholesterol or mixed dyslipidemia. It offers balanced potency and safety, making it suitable for long-term management of patients with cardiovascular risk factors, metabolic syndrome, or diabetes. Beyond cholesterol lowering, it contributes to plaque stabilization and systemic anti-inflammatory effects.
- Lifestyle-related Diseases > Hyperlipidemia Indicated for primary hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and elevated triglycerides. Helps reduce LDL-C, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and ApoB, while increasing HDL-C. > Cardiovascular Diseases Reduces the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), including myocardial infarction, stroke, and arterial revascularization procedures in high-risk individuals. > Cerebral Infarction & Myocardial Infarction Prevention Provides vascular protection through atheroma regression and endothelial stabilization, lowering the risk of cerebrovascular and cardiac events in both primary and secondary prevention.
Rosuvastatin inhibits the rate-limiting enzyme HMG-CoA reductase in the mevalonate pathway of cholesterol biosynthesis. This action results in significant LDL-C reduction through increased receptor-mediated uptake. It also lowers triglycerides by suppressing hepatic VLDL production and enhances HDL cholesterol. Rosuvastatin exhibits a long elimination half-life, enabling once-daily dosing and sustained lipid control. It has low potential for CYP450 drug interactions, making it safer in polypharmacy contexts. Rosuvastatin also reduces high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), reinforcing its role in vascular inflammation control and plaque stabilization.
General Hyperlipidemia / Mixed Dyslipidemia / Atherosclerosis / Hypertriglyceridemia: → Initial dose: 10–20 mg once daily → Maintenance dose: 5–40 mg once daily → Maximum dose: 40 mg/day (for patients not achieving LDL-C goal with 20 mg) → Adjust dosage every 2–4 weeks based on lipid panel Hyperlipoproteinemia Type III (Dysbetalipoproteinemia): → Same dosing regimen → Effective for managing elevated beta-VLDL and IDL particles Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HoFH): → Initial dose: 20 mg once daily → Maintenance: 5–40 mg once daily → May be used alone or in combination with LDL apheresis Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD): → Initial dose: 10–20 mg once daily → Target group: men ≥50 years, women ≥60 years, with hsCRP ≥2 mg/L and at least one CVD risk factor → Proven to reduce stroke, myocardial infarction, and need for coronary intervention Pediatric – Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HeFH): → Age 8–9: 5–10 mg once daily (max 10 mg) → Age 10–17: 5–20 mg once daily (max 20 mg) → Titrate every ≥4 weeks based on LDL-C response Pediatric – Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HoFH): → ≥7 years: 20 mg once daily → May be combined with other lipid-lowering treatments for enhanced effect Administer once daily, preferably at the same time. May be taken with or without food. Always accompany with diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.
