Crestor 20mg contains 20mg of Rosuvastatin, one of the most potent statins available for cholesterol management. As an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, Rosuvastatin reduces cholesterol biosynthesis in the liver, enhancing LDL receptor activity and promoting clearance of circulating low-density lipoproteins. The 20mg dosage is widely prescribed for patients with moderate to severe hyperlipidemia or those at high risk of cardiovascular events. In addition to robust LDL-C lowering, Rosuvastatin 20mg has been shown to reduce vascular inflammation (hsCRP) and stabilize atherosclerotic plaques, contributing to long-term cardiovascular protection.

Rosuvastatin 20mg exhibits a long half-life and high selectivity for hepatic cholesterol synthesis inhibition. Its lipid-lowering efficacy is dose-dependent and among the most powerful in its class. General Hyperlipidemia / Mixed Dyslipidemia / Atherosclerosis / Hypertriglyceridemia: → Initial dose: 10–20 mg once daily → Maintenance dose: 5–40 mg once daily → Maximum dose: 40 mg/day → Reassess lipid profile every 2–4 weeks to adjust dosage Hyperlipoproteinemia Type III (Dysbetalipoproteinemia): → Same dosage → Targeted for elevated remnant lipoproteins (beta-VLDL, IDL) Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HoFH): → Initial: 20 mg once daily → May increase to max 40 mg/day → Can be used alone or with LDL apheresis Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD): → 10–20 mg daily for patients without clinical CVD but with elevated risk → Particularly for men ≥50 and women ≥60 with hsCRP ≥2 mg/L and at least one other CVD risk factor Pediatric – Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HeFH): → Age 8–9: 5–10 mg once daily → Age 10–17: 5–20 mg once daily → Adjust every 4 weeks depending on LDL-C response Pediatric – Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HoFH): → ≥7 years: 20 mg daily → Combine with other lipid-lowering therapies when needed Administer once daily, at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without meals. Should always be used alongside a lipid-lowering diet.
Store at temperatures below 30°C, in a dry, sealed container. Keep away from light, moisture, and heat sources. Do not remove tablets from blister packaging until use. Keep out of reach of children.
