Adult Dose for Hypertension
→ Initial dose: 5 mg orally once daily
→ Maintenance dose: 5–10 mg once daily
→ Maximum dose: 10 mg/day
→ Small or frail patients may start at 2.5 mg once daily
Adult Dose for Angina or Coronary Artery Disease
→ Maintenance dose: 5–10 mg orally once daily
→ Maximum dose: 10 mg/day
Geriatric Dose
→ Hypertension: start at 2.5 mg once daily
→ Angina: initial 5 mg once daily
→ Titrate between 2.5–10 mg/day based on tolerance
Pediatric Dose (6–17 years)
→ Maintenance: 2.5–5 mg orally once daily
→ Maximum dose: 5 mg/day
→ Doses above 5 mg not evaluated in children
→ Titrate over 7–14 days, or more rapidly with frequent monitoring
May be taken with or without food.
Take at the same time daily.
Do not double dose if missed; take the next scheduled dose as normal.
