Product Description

Ecosprin-150 Tablet contains 150 mg of aspirin, positioned at the higher end of low-dose antiplatelet therapy. This enteric-coated formulation is primarily indicated for cardiovascular prevention, offering protection against thrombotic events like myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke. It irreversibly inhibits platelet aggregation via COX-1 suppression, reducing thromboxane A2 production. While commonly prescribed for secondary prevention in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, Ecosprin-150 is also relevant in chronic pain and inflammatory conditions when higher anti-inflammatory doses are required. Its enteric coating aids gastrointestinal tolerance during long-term administration.

Indications & Uses

- Lifestyle-related Diseases > Cerebral Infarction & Myocardial Infarction Aspirin at 150 mg daily is primarily used to prevent blood clot formation in arteries, thereby reducing the risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and ischemic strokes. It is a cornerstone drug in secondary prevention for individuals with existing atherosclerotic disease or high cardiovascular risk. - Painkillers & Headache > General Pain Relief At moderate to high doses, aspirin exhibits analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, making it suitable for the relief of musculoskeletal pain, headaches, and inflammatory joint conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. - AntiCancer Drugs > Others (off-label cancer chemoprevention) Emerging evidence supports long-term low-dose aspirin use in reducing the incidence of colorectal cancer, particularly in patients aged 50–59 with elevated cardiovascular risk. Though not officially labeled for cancer prevention, this off-label use is supported by major clinical guidelines in select populations.

Benefits & Effectiveness

- Irreversible platelet COX-1 inhibitor; inhibits thromboxane A2 synthesis - Effective antiplatelet action for arterial thrombosis prevention - Anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties at moderate to high doses - Supports colorectal cancer risk reduction in long-term low-dose use - Gastroprotective enteric coating reduces gastric mucosal irritation

While possible at this dose, higher strengths (325 mg or above) are typically preferred for pain relief.
When prescribed appropriately, it’s safe but requires monitoring for GI side effects and bleeding risks.
Low-dose aspirin has shown benefit in reducing colorectal cancer risk in high-risk adults, though this use is considered off-label.
Yes. Aspirin increases bleeding risk, so discontinuation timing should be guided by your physician before any procedures.
