Rizatop 10 Tablet contains Rizatriptan Benzoate 10 mg, a selective 5-HT1B/1D receptor agonist from the triptan class, used for acute relief of migraine attacks. It works by constricting dilated cerebral blood vessels and reducing inflammatory neuropeptide release in trigeminal pathways, effectively halting migraine progression. The 10 mg strength provides rapid relief from symptoms including throbbing headache, nausea, photophobia, and phonophobia. It can be taken at any point during a migraine attack, but is most effective when used early. The orally disintegrating tablet (ODT) format allows administration without water, especially helpful for patients experiencing nausea or vomiting.
Painkillers & Headache > Migraine Indicated for the rapid treatment of migraine episodes in both adults and pediatric patients aged 6 and older. Rizatop 10 is not for prophylactic use and should not be used to treat cluster headaches or other forms of headache outside of migraine.
Common side effects include dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth, nausea, and tightness in the chest or throat
Rare but serious reactions may include serotonin syndrome, arrhythmia, or severe allergic response
