Suminat 25 Tablet is an oral migraine medication containing 25 mg of Sumatriptan, a selective serotonin (5-HT1B/1D) receptor agonist. It targets the underlying vascular and neurochemical causes of migraines by constricting dilated cranial blood vessels and inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory neuropeptides. Suminat provides rapid symptom relief from intense headache, nausea, photophobia, and phonophobia when taken early in the migraine attack. While oral tablets are the most common form, Sumatriptan is also available in subcutaneous and intranasal formulations to suit various patient needs.
- Painkillers & Headache > Migraine Indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura, as well as acute cluster headaches. It is not intended for migraine prevention or long-term prophylactic use.

Adult Dosage for Migraine (Oral): - Initial dose: 25 mg orally once at migraine onset - If needed, a second dose may be taken at least 2 hours later - Do not exceed 200 mg in 24 hours Adult Dosage for Cluster Headache (Subcutaneous): - Initial dose: 6 mg subcutaneously once - If symptoms recur, a second dose may be taken after 1 hour - Maximum of 12 mg per 24 hours Intranasal Spray Dosage (for Migraine): - Dose: 5 mg, 10 mg, or 20 mg into one nostril - May repeat after 2 hours; do not exceed 40 mg per day - 10 mg dose can be split between nostrils (5 mg each) Powder Inhaler via Xsail Device: - Dose: 11 mg per nostril (total 22 mg) - Repeat after 2 hours if necessary, max 44 mg per day Indication: - Acute treatment of migraine with or without aura - Acute treatment of cluster headache attacks Administration Instructions: - Take at the earliest sign of migraine or cluster headache symptoms - Do not use for prophylaxis or frequent episodes (>4/month) without physician supervision - Not to be combined with other triptans or ergotamine derivatives within 24 hours - Avoid use in patients with cardiovascular disease or uncontrolled hypertension - Do not exceed maximum daily limits per formulation Precautions: - Increased risk of serotonin syndrome when combined with SSRIs, SNRIs, or MAOIs - Not recommended in patients with a history of stroke, TIA, or ischemic heart disease - May cause drowsiness or dizziness; avoid operating machinery after use - Use caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep the product in its original packaging. Do not use past the expiration date.
Common adverse effects include tingling, flushing, drowsiness, chest discomfort, and throat tightness. Rare but serious effects include myocardial infarction, stroke, and hypertensive crisis. Seek immediate medical attention if severe symptoms occur.
