Suminat 50 Tablet contains 50 mg of Sumatriptan, a fast-acting triptan-class agent specifically designed to treat acute migraine and cluster headache episodes. By selectively stimulating 5-HT1B/1D serotonin receptors, it constricts dilated cerebral blood vessels and suppresses inflammatory neuropeptides that cause migraine-related pain, nausea, and sensory sensitivity. Oral Sumatriptan is most effective when taken early during a migraine attack and is available in multiple strengths and formulations to fit patient needs.
- Painkillers & Headache > Migraine Indicated for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura, as well as acute cluster headaches. Not intended for prophylactic use or prevention of migraine episodes.

Usual Adult Dose for Migraine (Oral): - Initial: 25 mg, 50 mg, or 100 mg orally, once at onset - May repeat after 2 hours if symptoms recur - Maximum dose: 200 mg per 24 hours Usual Adult Dose for Cluster Headache (Subcutaneous): - Initial: 6 mg subcutaneously once - May repeat after 1 hour if needed - Maximum dose: 12 mg per 24 hours Intranasal Spray: - Dose: 5 mg, 10 mg, or 20 mg into one nostril - 10 mg can be divided between both nostrils (5 mg each) - May repeat after 2 hours if needed - Maximum dose: 40 mg per 24 hours Powder via Xsail® Device: - Dose: 11 mg per nostril (total 22 mg) - May repeat after 2 hours if needed - Maximum of 44 mg (2 doses) per day Indication: - Acute treatment of migraine with or without aura - Acute treatment of cluster headache attacks Administration Instructions: - Take as soon as migraine or cluster headache symptoms begin - Not for preventive treatment or regular daily use - Do not combine with other triptans or ergot derivatives within 24 hours - Avoid in individuals with cardiovascular disorders or uncontrolled hypertension - Use cautiously in hepatic or renal impairment Precautions: - Risk of serotonin syndrome when used with SSRIs, SNRIs, or MAOIs - Contraindicated in patients with ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular syndromes, or hemiplegic/basilar migraines - May cause drowsiness, dizziness, or tightness in chest or throat - Avoid alcohol and sedatives during treatment
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture. Keep in original blister packaging. Do not use after the expiry date.
Common side effects include dizziness, tingling, flushing, chest discomfort, and fatigue. Rare but serious reactions include cardiac arrhythmias, stroke, and hypersensitivity. Seek medical help if severe chest pain, shortness of breath, or allergic reactions occur.
