Candid Dusting Powder contains clotrimazole, an imidazole-class antifungal formulated as a fine topical powder. It inhibits ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes, leading to structural breakdown and elimination of the infection. The dusting powder form helps keep affected areas dry, reducing moisture that promotes fungal growth, and is ideal for use in skin folds, feet, and other prone areas. It is indicated for a wide range of superficial fungal infections and can be used as part of post-acne maintenance when fungal overgrowth is suspected.

The powder format helps minimize maceration and discomfort in moist environments. - BEAUTY & SKIN CARE > Post Acne Care Sometimes incorporated into dermatology protocols to reduce fungal or yeast colonization on skin recovering from acne, thereby helping maintain clear skin and preventing secondary irritation.
Clotrimazole works by inhibiting the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme 14α-demethylase, blocking ergosterol production in the fungal cell membrane. This disrupts membrane permeability and function, leading to fungal cell death. The topical powder acts locally at the site of infection, providing antifungal activity while also absorbing excess moisture and reducing friction.
For tinea corporis: Apply powder to affected and surrounding skin twice daily for 4 weeks (adults and children >3 years). For tinea cruris: Apply twice daily for 2 weeks (adults and children >3 years). For tinea pedis: Apply twice daily for 4–8 weeks (adults and children >3 years). Pay extra attention to spaces between toes and ensure area is dry before application. For cutaneous candidiasis: Apply twice daily for 2–4 weeks (adults and children >3 years). For tinea versicolor: Apply twice daily for 2–4 weeks (adults and children >3 years). For vaginal candidiasis (when using clotrimazole vaginal forms): - Option 1: 100 mg suppository once daily × 7 days ± 1% cream twice daily × 7 days - Option 2: 200 mg suppository once daily × 3 days ± 1% cream twice daily × 7 days - Option 3: 500 mg suppository single dose - Option 4: 1 applicatorful 1% vaginal cream once daily × 7 days - Option 5: 1 applicatorful 2% vaginal cream once daily × 3 days Three- and seven-day regimens show equal efficacy; 3-day may improve compliance. If single 500 mg dose fails, repeat with a longer regimen. In chronic or recurrent infections, especially in HIV patients, weekly or monthly suppositories may be used. Pediatric (>12 years) follows the same regimen as adults. General advice: Clean and thoroughly dry the affected area before applying powder. Continue for the full recommended course even if symptoms improve. Avoid inhalation of powder and contact with eyes. If a dose is missed, apply as soon as remembered unless near the next scheduled dose.
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep container tightly closed when not in use. Avoid storing in damp areas such as bathrooms. Keep out of reach of children.
Common: Mild skin irritation, redness, itching, or stinging at the application site. Uncommon but serious: Allergic contact dermatitis, blistering, swelling. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation, rash, or allergic symptoms occur.
