Saslic DS Foaming Face Wash contains salicylic acid 2% w/w, a higher-strength beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) formulated for intensive cleansing and exfoliation in acne-prone skin. At this concentration, salicylic acid penetrates deep into sebaceous follicles, dissolving hardened sebum plugs, clearing dead skin cells, and reducing inflammation caused by acne-associated bacteria such as Cutibacterium acnes. It is highly effective for managing persistent blackheads, whiteheads, and mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne, while promoting faster resolution of active breakouts. The keratolytic action also aids in skin resurfacing, reducing post-acne hyperpigmentation and improving skin texture over time. In addition to acne treatment, 2% salicylic acid is used off-label for mild keratinization disorders such as psoriasis, corns, and calluses, providing a gentle peeling effect that supports overall skin renewal. Salicylic acid is a lipid-soluble BHA that penetrates oily pores, dissolving the intercellular bonds between keratinocytes in the stratum corneum. This promotes the shedding of dead skin cells, unblocks clogged pores, and prevents new acne lesions from forming. It also has anti-inflammatory effects, calming redness and irritation while creating an environment unfavorable to acne-causing bacteria. At 2%, it offers stronger exfoliation compared to 1% formulations, making it suitable for individuals needing a more intensive acne-control regimen.
Adult Acne → Salicylic acid 2% foaming cleanser: Apply to wet skin, massage gently for 20–30 seconds, and rinse thoroughly. Use once or twice daily depending on tolerance. → If excessive dryness or irritation develops, reduce usage to once daily or every other day. Adult Dermatological Disorders (higher concentrations for targeted use) → Salicylic acid 16.7% liquid: Apply to warts 1–2 times daily after cleansing and drying the area. → Salicylic acid 3% soap: Use twice weekly, leaving lather on the skin for 2 minutes before rinsing. → Salicylic acid 6% cream/lotion: Apply once daily to pre-hydrated skin, occlude overnight, wash off in the morning. → Salicylic acid 6% foam: Apply at bedtime to hydrated skin, occlude, wash off the next morning. Pediatric Acne (12 years and older) → Salicylic acid 2% foaming cleanser: Use once daily initially, increasing to twice daily if tolerated. General Notes: → Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. → Apply sunscreen daily, as exfoliating agents can increase sun sensitivity. → Discontinue use if severe redness, peeling, or allergic reaction occurs.
