Terbest Cream - 15g contains terbinafine hydrochloride, a potent topical allylamine antifungal medication formulated to treat a wide range of superficial fungal infections. It works by inhibiting squalene epoxidase, a key enzyme in fungal cell membrane synthesis, leading to the depletion of ergosterol and the accumulation of toxic squalene inside fungal cells. This disruption results in the breakdown of membrane structure, loss of cellular function, and eventual fungal cell death. Terbest Cream offers rapid symptom relief, including reduction of itching, redness, scaling, and discomfort, while lowering the risk of recurrence when used as prescribed. The cream’s smooth, hydrating texture allows for even application on various body areas, including sensitive and moisture-prone skin folds. In dermatology, it is sometimes used off-label to prevent secondary fungal infections in patients recovering from acne, especially those with seborrheic or fungal folliculitis tendencies.

Terbinafine hydrochloride is fungicidal against most dermatophytes and possesses fungistatic or fungicidal properties against certain yeasts and molds. Its selective inhibition of squalene epoxidase halts ergosterol biosynthesis and allows intracellular squalene to accumulate, damaging fungal cells beyond repair. Because topical application achieves high concentrations at the site of infection with minimal systemic absorption, it is considered both highly effective and safe for prolonged use in indicated conditions.
Tinea Corporis: Apply a thin, even layer of cream, gel, or spray to the affected area and surrounding skin once daily (adults and children ≥12 years). Tinea Cruris: Apply once daily to clean, dry skin using cream, gel, or spray. Tinea Pedis: - Cream/Spray: Apply twice daily, morning and evening. - Gel: Apply once daily. Tinea Versicolor: Apply terbinafine solution twice daily to affected skin until the infection resolves. General advice: Clean and dry the affected area before application. Use enough product to cover the lesion and about 2 cm of surrounding skin. Continue use for the full prescribed duration even if symptoms improve early, to prevent relapse. Avoid contact with the eyes, mucous membranes, or broken skin.
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of reach of children.
Common: Mild redness, itching, burning, or peeling at the application site. Rare but serious: Allergic contact dermatitis, blistering, severe local irritation. Discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider if swelling, rash, or other signs of hypersensitivity occur.
